Plus Size Post

From time to time I am asked to speak or assist with the group of women referred to as "Plus Size", and unless asked I have purposefully not positioned myself as a "Plus Size" expert/stylist/image advisor.  Just like many people have, this is the chink in my armour, my insecurity.

The fact of the matter is that I am plus size as are many of the women  in our lives, technically size 16 (14 US, 18 UK) and above and in the fashion world, size 12 (10 US, 14 UK) and above.  I also LOVE fashion!

I read it, watch it, advise on it, wear it and buy it (as often as I can) and have felt the frustration when I see a look on the runway or in a magazine that I can't find in my size.  I have decided that 2013 will be the year I embrace my body, polish and buff my armour, strive for health and an amazing wardrobe.

I would love you to share this journey with me as I share stories, tips and real life fashion garments which aren't necessarily nylon, floral, sleeveless and square like a a lot of plus size designs on the market!

Stay tuned, follow me and share your tales too.  I look forward to this fun and fabulous togetherness we will have.

A Sporty Luxe Look at Day 2 #MBFWA

I know Fashion Week has drawn to a close but the buzz and excitement goes on and I particularly enjoyed the day two minimal sport luxe look. Nothing like a slinky track pant and some neoprene accessory accents to help "run" through a day at #MBFWA!

A little look book #1 MBFWA

Thought I'd post some of my outfits from earlier this week so here is Day 1. Pastels and Prints. Lots of snaps from this one, especially the amazing leggings by my Fashion Assistant Alice Waugh, so talented.

Alice McCall "Babushka" MBFWA

Prints, Peplums and Prada were the order of the day for Alice McCall this morning. The colours and styling represented the "Babushka" well and had everyone excited about spring summer. With all major media in the room, bloggers, celebrities and designers this was a highly coveted show that did not disappoint. Enjoy x

MBFWA Jayson Brunsden - The Box

The controversial Venue "The Box" was used to its full advantage this evening by Jayson Brunsden in a show with a sexy and edgy vibe. I hope my images do it some justice! I was very lucky to be ushered into the VIP showing through the rear entrance so I didn't have to queue, and it made my day.

Flowers for a Vagabond MBFWA

Another installation in The Box. An ethereal vibe and deep forest props enhanced an interesting collection from Flowers for a Vagabond. Knife pleating, beautifully finished exposed seams and slick hair styling made this intriguing and unexpected. The predominantly black looks we're mixed with tinsel skirts and tunics and bolts of hot pink, red and yellow. Enjoy x
